Dill seeds

This common seasoning also makes a digestion soothing tea. A cup after a big meal can ease digestive related insomnia.

Echinacea root

The root made into tea or tincture provides immune system support. It assists in antibody formation and has anti-inflammatory properties.

Taken at the first sign of a cold or flu, studies show it can shorten the duration of illness and reduce symptoms. Immunity Unity tincture is a popular formulas that I make that has 3 strains of Echinacea root in it along with other immune support herbs.

This herbal antibiotic is active against Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus spp., mycobacterium, and herpes virus simplex 1.

Elecampane root

This herbal expectorant helps to clear mucous from the lungs and is used for bronchitis and chronic coughs.

A tea or tincture of the root can ease common cold symptoms. The spleen, stomach and liver benefit increasing the assimilation of foods. *Avoid during pregnancy.

Flax seeds

The seeds are a digestive aide either ground or whole as fiber to regulate elimination. Add to your breakfast cereal, muffins, protein shake or yogurt.

The oil made from the seeds is high in gammalinoleic acid. Two capsules 2x a day or adding the a teaspoon of oil 3x a day to your food improves hormone balance, skin, and eases joint pains.

Ladies Mantle leaves and flowers

 

This low growing female tonic is commonly used to reduce excessive menstrual bleeding.

The tea is used in Europe to treat ulcers, hernias, and abdominal inflammation. *Avoid during pregnancy.

Lavender flowers

The rejuvenating scent and flavor of these purple flowers support both the nervous and immune system.

My favorite calming tea blend contains oat tops, nettles, lemon balm, and lavender flowers. A cup of tea at night promotes sleep.

The essential oil has antibacterial and anti depressant properties. Simply inhale the aroma, add to bath. Lavender is a common ingredient in dream pillows. Learn to make your own at one of my classes.

Lemon Balm leaves

Mild lemony flavor soothing for the nervous system. Balances moods with a tea made from this mild anti-depressant.

The tea and essential oil has antiviral against herpes simplex.
